Petition: we the undersigned welcome the decision reported on B.B.C., 9.00pm News, July, 10, 1997, for the S.P.D. and the German Green Party to scrap the Eurofighter Project. We consider this project to be an unacceptable burden on the finance ministries of Germany, Britain , Italy and Spain. (Pfund 42 billion.) This is particularly the case when we consider the cutbacks in Health, education and Social Welfare spending. Now the Cold war is over the positive alternative to the misuse of Science for aggressive purposes and the waste of enormous sums of money is to seriously negotiate cutbacks in military forces, to cut unilaterally or multilaterally., this will release resources for real human need and not military industrial complex greed.
